Abstract
The preliminary investigations were carried out inorder to evaluate the control effects of agricultural pesticides against the populations of the vector mosquitoes, Anopheles sinensis and Culex tritaeniorhynchus, of which the main breeding place is rice fields in a village of Wondany Myon, Goyang Gun, Kyonggi Do during the summer of 1977. The results of the study are summerized as follows:
1. 98.5 percent of the total mosquitoes collected in the study area was rice paddy breeding species.
2. A complete larval mortality of mosquitoes was normall obtained after treatment of agricultural pesticides by farmers, regardless of mosquito species and the kinds of the pesiticide.
3. Mosoquito larva control effects of Lindane EC when sprayed for rice pests, lasted about 9 days, fenitrothion 11 days, diazinon 3-5 days and fenthion 4-6 days respectively.
